YBA250 NetTek Antenna and Transmission Line Analyzer SW Version 1.304

Major Changes For This Release
------------------------------

This release supports both the NetTek Y350C and Y400 platforms. The serial upgrade procedure automatically determines the platform type and installs the correct application for the given platform.

The CW source can now be turned on and off within the CW measurement screen.

In DTF, you can now zoom in after setting a cover distance by simply changing the stop setting to a value smaller than the cover distance.

The currently selected cable type is now displayed in the DTF measurement screen.

The user now has the option to apply a "smoothing" algorithm on the DTF waveform when the number of waveform display points is less than 128. Smoothing can be enabled and disabled via a selection in the View menu or in the Distance Options page of the Setup dialog.

Application module power usage configuration queries have been updated to more accurately reflect that of a typical YBA250 module. The newly specified power usage is less than that specified in previous releases. This change, along with a future YBT250 release, will allow both the YBA250 and YBT250 to perform measurements simultaneously.

In all previous releases, an alarm would occur in the return loss measurement when the measured result was physically below the specified mask limit. Given that down is good and up is bad in this measurement, this behavior was backwards of what was really needed. Therefore, in this release, return loss measurement alarms now occur when the measurement result is physically above the limit line.

Indoor Viewing and Outdoor Viewing color schemes have been added. The outdoor scheme changes the return loss and DTF measurement result area to have a black background and green waveform trace. In addition, the display brightness is set to the maximum level. The indoor scheme uses the standard white background and blue waveform trace for the return loss and DTF measurement result area. It does not modify the display brightness.

Added the GSM-R 900 channel table.

Band edge cursors are now by default enabled.

Fixed a problem where in some cases the IF Gain and IF Attenuation extended diagnostic tests would incorrectly report a failure.

Installation
------------

1) Unpack the ZIP file downloaded from the web.

2) The archive file YBA250K_upgrade_v1-304a.arq (from the downloaded ZIP file) is for upgrading the YBA250 while it is installed on a Y400 NetTek Analyzer platform. Copy this file to a PC memory card. NOTE: Do not attempt to use this archive file for performing an upgrade of a YBA250 while it is installed on a Y350C NetTek Analyzer platform.

3) Install the PC memory card into the NetTek.

4) Start up the NetTek.

5) On the NetTek, select Start > Programs > Tektronix Utilities > Module Upgrade and follow the on-screen instructions on the NetTek.

6) When the module upgrade is complete, tap Restart Now on the NetTek to complete the installation.

7) The YBA250 is now ready to use. To start the application double-click the YBA250 icon on the NetTek desktop, or select Start > Programs > NetTek > YBA250.

8) After you start the application, the NetTek Analyzer Platform will copy the YBA250 software from the module into the platform and perform the installation. This process takes several minutes, but enables future power-ups to occur faster.

9) Once the application is installed, it will launch. Verify that the version number for the software on the splash screen matches the version on the YBA250 CD-ROM.

NOTES
-----

Even though the YBA250 upgrade was performed using the Y400 NetTek Analyzer platform, once the upgrade process has successfully completed the YBA250 can be used on either the Y350C or Y400 NetTek Analyzer platforms.

The installation utility is all that differs between the YBA250K_upgrade_v1-304a.arq file and the previous YBA250K_upgrade.arq release. The installation utility has been corrected to address SW installation failures that were observed for some YBA250 application modules. The resulting SW that is installed on the application module is the same 1.304 SW release.
